Sarah Perriam, MC

Sarah Perriam is a passionate rural advocate and is widely regarded as a leading voice in rural media. She is former producer and co-host of RadioLIVE's Rural Exchange (REX), which she used as platform to regularly talk about big issues in agribusiness, and is a champion of New Zealand’s primary industries and food and beverage sectors.

Sarah is excited to launch her own hosted podcast series at Grow 2019—called naked.hungry.sober—after spending the last decade producing, presenting, directing and creating rural media content after her media. The new series will focus on big picture thinking of how we feed the world whilst saving the planet and will kick off with behind-the-scenes interviews with some of Grow 2019’s inspirational speakers for listen on-demand in late April.

During her time as a rural media producer, presenter, and director, Sarah learnt so much about not only the efforts farmers go to—to produce a premium, grass-fed, ethical product—but also the challenges they face to tell their story in a fair and balanced way.

In 2018, Sarah hosted the 50th FMG Young Farmer of the Year—which was live-broadcast on Newshub.co.nz—and was nominated as a finalist in the Westpac Women of Influence.

Sarah hopes that as the millennial consumer continues to trend towards more critical thinking and demand more thought-led journalism, New Zealand is well positioned to leverage our “transparency currency.”
